Hi, friends!

We want to share some good news and a request for help from our friends at Worcester County Food Bank. We’ve been pushing hard to get Breakfast After the Bell over the finish line this year, and we’ve got a good shot at making it happen! Here’s the full text of the letter sent out this morning by Kali Coughlan, Child Nutrition Director at WCFB. Check out the video, read more about Breakfast After the Bell here — and then make that call! Let your legislators know that school breakfast is important to you!

We have some exciting news!
A hearing for proposed “Breakfast After the Bell” legislation has been set for Monday, June 3rd at 10am at the State House in Boston. This is an opportunity to move the bill forward if the Joint Committee on Education votes it out favorably. We need YOUR help letting committee members know why they should support this bill.
This legislation could ensure that 150,000 more children in Massachusetts begin their day fed and ready to learn. By requiring nearly 700 schools to offer all students breakfast after the start of the instructional day, this bill would make sure kids aren’t missing cafeteria breakfast due to late buses, busy morning schedules, or social stigma.
More information about the legislation can be found here. Watch the video below for inspiration.
